At a Glance

“The 2017 Red Wine checks in as 45% Cabernet Franc, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, source from sites in Coombsville, St. Helena, and Atlas Peak, that spent 20 months in 75% new French Oak.  It’s another juicy, incredibly pure, delicious effort, offering loads of blue fruits, kirsch liqueur, violets, white flowers, and spice as well as full-bodied richness, a seamless, plump texture, and a great finish.  It has a wonderful floral character, perfect balance, and a great finish. Drink it any time over the coming 15-20 years.”

“Coming from the Lewelling, Criscione and Beckstoffer Dr. Crane vineyards, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot aged 20 months in 65% new French oak. It has a deep garnet-purple color and delivers exuberant black cherries, ripe plums and crème de cassis notes with nuances of fallen leaves, pencil lead and charcoal plus a touch of dried herbs. Full-bodied, firm and grainy, it packs in the black fruit and earthy layers, finishing with a mineral kick.”

-Lisa Perrotti Brown, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, 93 Points

“A delicious and intense wine with a slight phenolic edge. It’s rich yet so vibrant. The fruits are layered with lovely citrus notes of grapefruit and lime leaf and a thread of ripe melon. Notes of peach add juiciness. Slightly spicy on the finish, this quaffable wine has a nice sweetness and a bright demeanor.”
